Peter was part of my early filmmaking days and at the birth of the Melbourne Filmmakers Co-op. Now he’s a Senior Statesman of Australian film, perhaps then it was more an older brother. He was four years older then me, born in 1943). He was more of a friend with Jim Wilson than me, but I was still caught up in his enthusiasm for film-making, equipment, sync sound experiments and his first films. He often worked with Nigel Buesst and they taught at Swinburne Film School and formed the sensibilities of a long line of students, like Richard Leigh who did this interview video (and the header image of Peter above is from that). Watch this bit first 7 mins in, and then watch from the beginning.
